(krep'i-tant), 1. Relating to or characterized by crepitation.
2. Denoting a fine bubbling noise (rale) produced by air entering fluid in lung tissue; heard in pneumonia and in certain other conditions.
3. The sensation imparted to the palpating finger by gas or air in the subcutaneous tissues.
