When age, sex and family income had been controlled for, ANCOVA models revealed that children living in fractured-grid neighbourhoods had fewer average accelerometer
counts per minute on weekdays than the core and curvilinear-pattern neighbourhoods (83 and 55 minutes less, respectively) (Figure 2, top).
MVPA increasers and decreasers had similar total
counts per minute (cpm) as well as time spent in sedentary and light physical activity (P>0.10).
No differences were found between groups in accelerometer activity
counts per minute for the speeds of 54 m x [min.sup.-1] (t(84) = -0.23, p = 0.41), 67 m x [min.sup.-1] (t(84) = 0.18, p = 0.43), 80 m x [min.sup.-1] (t(68) = 0.31, p = 0.38), 94 m x [min.sup.-1] (t(58) = -0.21, p = 0.42), and 107 m x [min.sup.-1] (t(44) = 0.55, p = 0.29).
A radiation level of 100,000
counts per minute will be introduced as a new standard for decontamination, up from 6,000
counts per minute, the government said, adding that raising the bar will not endanger health.
(19) A significant moderate inverse relationship was reported between body fat and accelerometer
counts per minute. This suggests that girls with more body fat are less active than their leaner peers in physical education; however, a weak, nonsignificant inverse relationship was reported between body fat and MVPA when assessed by heart rate telemetry, suggesting that body fat may not be an important determinant of PA in girls during physical education.
Subjects having a risk score above one standard deviation (16% of the children with the worst profile) of the composite variable were defined to be "at risk." To measure physical activity, the children wore an accelerometer, a small instrument worn on the hip that measures vertical body movement, for four consecutive days (two weekdays and two weekend days) that measured their activity in
counts per minute (cpm).
