An injury consisting of the tearing of the skin on knuckles, which traumatically impact on the teeth of an opponent, often in the context of non-gloved fisticuffs. Closed fist injuries are often associated with infections requiring systemic antibiotics, since the open wound is a portal for bacterial infection
