1. An artery with origin in the deep artery of the thigh, with distribution to the hip joint and thigh muscles, and with anastomoses to the medial circumflex femoral, inferior gluteal, superior gluteal, and popliteal arteries; lateral circumflex artery of the thigh.
2. An artery with origin in the deep artery of the thigh, with distribution to the hip joint and muscles of the thigh, and with anastomoses to the inferior gluteal, superior gluteal, and lateral circumflex femoral arteries; medial circumflex artery of the thigh.
