Infections with organism of the genus Chlamydia . Chlamydia trachomatis causes pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) including CERVICITIS and SALPINGITIS, URETHRITIS, REACTIVE ARTHRITIS and TRACHOMA. With the exception of the last, these infections are sexually transmitted. Chlamydia psittaci causes PSITTACOSIS and is usually acquired from birds.
