chiclero's ulcer

A form of cutaneous leishmaniasis caused by Leishmania mexicana, which occurs in chicle workers in Central America, characterised by a predominantly single, painless, ulcerated lesion without regional lymphadenopathy. When located on the ear, it tends to become chronic, causing destruction of the pinna and disfigurement

chiclero's ulcer

A self-healing skin ulcer affecting the sapodilla tree tappers in Mexico, Guatemala and Honduras. It is a form of LEISHMANIASIS of the skin (cutaneous Leishmaniasis) caused by Leishmania mexicana and spread by sandflies.
