chemoantigen
chemoantigen
An obsolete term for a chemical that can act as an antigen. Small chemicals are now termed haptens as they must be linked to a larger molecule—usually a protein—to act as an antigen. Large complex chemicals can act as antigens when they are 1 kD or larger.Segen's Medical Dictionary. © 2012 Farlex, Inc. All rights reserved.
