Patients with a history of invasive breast cancer or DCIS, history of other cancers except
cervical carcinoma in situ and basal cell carcinoma of the skin, or family with BRCA 1/2 mutation and patients who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding are excluded.
They used a standardized questionnaire to interview women who had newly diagnosed, histologically confirmed
cervical carcinoma in situ or invasive cervical cancer, as well as age-matched women without these forms of cancer.
The investigators pooled data on 2,800 women diagnosed with invasive cervical cancer or
cervical carcinoma in situ in seven case-control studies in five countries.
