A regional term of art referring to a condition—e.g., malignant atrophic papulosis (Degos disease)—which is so rare (e.g., one hundred reports in the world literature), that a trainee should consider writing the case up to submit to a peer-reviewed journal as a learning exercise and add it to his/her CV.
