cancer wait target
cancer wait target
Any of 3 goals created by the Calman-Hine framework for cancer care in the UK. The first target, the so-called 14-day GP referral, is that patients urgently referred by their GPs will have an appointment with an oncology consultant booked within 14 days of the urgent referral. The second target, the 31-day target, is that the patient will be seen by an oncologist within 31 days. The final target, the 62-day target, assumes either that the patient has cancer and that definitive therapy will either begin within 62 days of the urgent GP referral, or the patient has chosen to forego therapy.Segen's Medical Dictionary. © 2012 Farlex, Inc.
