cal·ca·ne·al gait

a gait disturbance, characterized by walking on the heel, due to paralysis of the calf muscles, seen following poliomyelitis and in some other neurologic diseases.

calcaneal gait

A gait disturbance most commonly seen in children with spastic diplegia (cerebral palsy), which is characterised by heel walking with ankle dorsiflexion 1 standard deviation above the mean in the sagittal plane for all phases of gait, especially during mid-stance. It is more common after heel-cord lengthening.
