bronchography
An X-ray examination in which the branches of the bronchi are made conspicuous by lining them with an inhaled or injected material opaque to X-rays. Bronchography is especially useful in the diagnosis of BRONCHIECTASIS, but is giving way to fibreoptic BRONCHOSCOPY and less invasive methods such as refined CT or MRI scanning.Collins Dictionary of Medicine © Robert M.
