bone spavin
equine osteophyte formation around splint bone (second or fourth metatarsal) at the junction with the tarsus, distal to the tibiotarsal joint, usually on the medial aspect involving the second metatarsal at the tarsometatarsal articulation; may produce lameness and eventually, ankylosis.
