bladder stress test
A clinical test designed to simulate involuntary urine release, which occurs if a person coughs, sneezes, laughs or exercises. In the test, the patient lies prone, a catheter is inserted and one cup of clear fluid is instilled in the bladder; the patient is asked to cough both lying down and standing, and the time interval between the applied stress of coughing and fluid loss is noted.Segen's Medical Dictionary. © 2012 Farlex, Inc.
