bile-acid tolerance test

A near-abandoned liver-function test that measures the rate of plasma clearance of intravenously injected bile acids, once thought to be a sensitive indicator of hepatocellular dysfunction. Clearance tests, both oral and intravenous, have no advantages over fasting levels of bile acids.
