An obsolete adrenolytic test which was popular in the 1950s for phaeochromocytoma, in which benzodioxane administration was followed by a drop of systolic blood pressure drops by 35 mm Hg and diastolic BP by 25 mm Hg; the currently preferred alpha-adrenergic blockade uses phentolamine.Segen's Medical Dictionary. © 2012 Farlex, Inc.
