administration of one or more tests.
bedside laboratory testing in the nursing interventions classification, a nursing intervention defined as performance of laboratory tests at the bedside or point of care.
compatibility testing the determination of the compatibility of the recipient's serum and the donor's red blood cells by pretransfusion testing to ensure that the product will survive in and improve the clinical condition of the recipient.
criterion-referenced testing the comparison of a person's score or performance with a standard of achievement that includes the definition of target behaviors. See also criterion-referenced evaluation.
exercise testing see exercise testing.
reality testing objective evaluation of the external world and differentiation between it and the ego or self. Impaired reality testing is seen in psychological defense mechanisms that falsify reality, such as projection and denial, and it is a major criterion of psychosis.
stress testing exercise testing.
