baboon syndrome

A term used to describe a special type of drug eruption characterised as a systemic contact-type dermatitis. The name obtains from the bright red, well-demarcated anogenital lesions, which the original authors likened to the baboon bottom. The lesions are usually associated with a symmetric eczematous eruption involving the axillae, antecubital fossae, eyelids, and lateral neck.
