anterior basal (bronchopulmonary) segment [S VIII]
of the four bronchopulmonary segments of the inferior lobes of the right or left lung that contact the diaphragm, the one lying in front, that is, nearest the costal cartilages; supplied by the anterior basal segmental bronchi [B VIII] and anterior basal segmental (pulmonary) artery.
