anemone cell (villiform) tumour

A heterogeneous group of large cell malignancies with numerous circumferential (polar) microvilli, an ultrastructural finding typical of epithelial cells. However, the lack of tonofilaments and intercellular junctions suggests that some of these tumours may actually have been large cell lymphomas.
