Mesalamine Delayed-Release Capsules are contraindicated in patients with known or suspected hypersensitivity to salicylates or
aminosalicylates or to any of the ingredients of Mesalamine Delayed-Release Capsules.
More than 90% of patients received concomitant
aminosalicylate maintenance.
More commonly, the treatment of IBD requires
aminosalicylates. Often, steroids are used to control the flares of the disease and are used as a maintenance drug.
Medical therapy for inflammatory bowel disease was grouped by class, including
aminosalicylates, steroids, immune modulators (azathioprine, 6-mercaptopurine, methotrexate, and cyclosporine), and anti-TNF inhibitors (infliximab and adalimumab).
