ambiguous nucleus
n. A slender longitudinal column of motor neurons in the ventrolateral region of the medulla oblongata, whose efferent fibers leave with the vagus and glossopharyngeal nerves and innervate the striated muscle fibers of the pharynx and the vocal cord muscles of the larynx.
