allele-specific associated primer

allele-specific associated primer

The sequence of a decamer oligonucleotide used in polymerase chain reaction derived from normal random-amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD), which generates an absence/presence polymorphism. These absence/presence polymorphisms do not require electrophoretic separation of the sample. Presence of an amplification product is detected by measuring fluorescence of ethidium bromide-stained DNA.
