accommodative squint

Accommodative strabismus, a convergent squint in young children with uncorrected HYPERMETROPIA who are forced to exert accommodation in order to see distant objects clearly and stronger than normal accommodation to see near objects clearly. Physiologically, accommodation is linked to convergence. This mechanism is the commonest cause of squint in children and the consequent AMBLYOPIA.
