Young Epilepsy is running an appeal to raise critical funds to help more parents and schools recognise symptoms of 
absence seizures.
A survey shows that on average children with 
absence seizures in the UK wait more than a year and a half before being diagnosed.
Most common seizure type was generalised tonic clonic seizures (68%) followed by simple partial seizures (12%), complex partial seizure (10%), myoclonic seizures (5%) and 
absence seizures (4%).
