The exploration was performed through the abdominal defect that was approximately 10 cm in diameter located in the infraumbilical region extending to the left
abdominal quadrant. Enlargement of the wound was not required.
MRU revealed a right ectopic, renal remnant located in the right lower
abdominal quadrant (5 cm in length) [Fig.
In the physical examination, the patient showed flat abdomen, pain on superficial palpation of the epigastrium, no rebound tenderness, and palpable mass approximately 12 cm wide in the left
abdominal quadrant.
Her abdomen was slightly distended and deep palpation of the right lower
abdominal quadrant caused pain.
The telescope was directed in upper
abdominal quadrant towards the pelvic cavity for examination of ovaries and uterus.
A solid mass with a size of approximately 8 x 7 cm was found anterior to the left kidney filling the left upper
abdominal quadrant (Picture 2).
A 56-year-old woman with hypertension, obesity, asthma, kidney stones, and subclinical hypothyroidism was enrolled, who reported weight loss not quantified in the latest months with anorexia and discomfort in the right upper
abdominal quadrant.
One patient was a 58-year-old man who had begun to complain of sudden onset of right lower
abdominal quadrant (RLAQ) pain and fever with nausea, but nonbloody, nonbilious emesis, and also without diarrhea, anorexia, or any other gastrointestinal symptoms on POD 9.
Abdominal ultrasound showed that the intestinal loops were thickened and the surrounding mesenteric tissue was edematous in the right
abdominal quadrant. Abdominal computed tomography was performed after a bolus administration of intravenous contrast material, and sigmoid colon position anomalies and diverticulitis were observed.
A cystic lesion of about 48x34 mm with well-defined borders associated with the appendix and probably with mucocele of the appendix was reported in the lower right
abdominal quadrant close to the cecum.
The patient underwent a CT scan of the chest, abdomen, and pelvis, which revealed a 10 cm cystic mass in the right lower
abdominal quadrant with no abnormality noticed in chest.
