In our body "earth" is present in the muladhara, "water" in the svadhishthana, "fire" in the manipura, "wind" in the anahata, and "ether" in the vishuddha chakra.
This element relates to the vishuddha chakra inside the throat region that connects ether with the subtle element of sound, the activity of hearing; and that is ruled by Sadashiva as Ardhanarishvara, the "Lord Whose Left Half Is Woman" (figure 5).
The lowest, the muladhara-cakra, represents earth (prithivi); the svahdhisthana-cakra, water (apas); the manipura represents fire (tejas); the anahata represents air (vayu); the
vishuddha, ether (akasha); and the ajna, represents mind or mental faculties (manas) (Woodroofe 1974:141).
