Scanning electron microscopy of the
tegument of adult Schistosoma margrebowiei LeRoux, 1933, with particular reference to the structure of the tubercles.
Femur curved and wider proximally, with deep prolateral concavity distally close to the tibial joint;
tegument with abundant translucent setae, which are thinner and longer in the prolateral surface.
Scanning electron micrographs of Furcocercaria V 14: dorsal view of cercarial body showing arrangement of sensory button papillae and spines on
tegument; 15: ventral view of cercarial body showing arrangement of sensory button papillae and spines on
tegument; 16: detail of rows of spines on the anterior organ; 17: ventral sucker with 5 circles of spines surrounding its opening and sensory button papillae above it; 18: detail of spines and sensory button papillae on body.
2 towards various shrimp primary cultures and hemocytes was demonstrated, showing that both have a significant cytotoxic effect, especially against hemocyte and
tegument cells (Fig.
The sculpturing of
tegument also retains the same pattern and become denser through ontogenesis.
In contrast to PZQ, which causes an increase in the permeability of the membranes of schistosome cells leading to calcium-producing sustained muscular contraction, spastic paralysis and
tegument damage (Doenhoff et al., 2008, 2009), [beta]-lap, in tumor cells and in the ileum, promotes the efflux of this ion, suggesting that the increase in plasma [Ca.sup.2+] is responsible for its apoptotic effect (Tagliarino et al., 2001; Bentle et al., 2006).
These crossings are favored by the spiny
tegument, also at the origin of the traumatic destruction of the liver parenchyma followed by the inflammatory cell infiltration and fibrosis.
Remnants of the
tegument surrounded the mass and stained lightly.
Progress by 3 points was recorded for
tegument texture, edema, skin colour and plantar ridges, by 2 points at skin opacity, nipple formation, ear consistency and feminine genital organs (with hips in semiabduction), and by 1 point at lanugo, breast size and ear shape.
The
tegument proteins VP36A and the nucleocapsid proteins VP664 (79), (87) and VP136 A (79), (88), (89), are also characterized by the presence of a cell attachment motif.
It is comprised of a linear dsDNA genome enclosed by an icosahedral capsid, which is surrounded by the
tegument and a host cell membrane-derived envelope embedded with glycoproteins (gps) (Figure 1).
