Herbal medicine
Any of a family of trees native to Central and South America, the inner bark of which is anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial. It has been used for indigestion, infections (bacterial, fungal, parasitic and viral), smoker’s cough, and arthritis; anecdotal reports suggest that pau d’arco may be useful for AIDS, malaria and cancer.Segen's Medical Dictionary. © 2012 Farlex, Inc. Tabebuia s.l.
Tabebuia aurea is typical of Brazilian Cerrado, with records also from areas of Caatinga, Mata Atlantica, Pantanal, and Amazon Rainforest, occurring from the north to the southeast (Lohmann, 2015).
Trees planted at the new park include Washingtonia, Neem, Delonix regia,
Tabebuia, Cordia, and Tecoma, to name a few.
