sulphur oxide

Any of a family of chemical pollutants derived from combustion of fossil fuels.

Fossil fuel combustion is the main source of P[M.sub.2.5] and sulfur oxide pollution in U.S.
DME is made from natural gas and does not produce sulfur oxide. It is expected to be used as an alternative to liquid petroleum gas and diesel oil.
