Investigators discovered the existence of
rubisco activase in 1985 and proved that it activates
rubisco.
Scientific teams around the world have been trying to crystallize
rubisco activase ever since.
LSU and SSU of
Rubisco were present in V+ - seedlings and conspicuously absent in V- -seedlings (Fig.3D).
Directions: Carbon Fixation = Carboxylation step;
Rubisco (the minister) joins the two together to form a 6-carbon compound.
of
RuBisCO with the high concentration of C[O.sub.2] necessary for
where a is the discrimination due to diffusion of C[O.sub.2] in the air (4.4[per thousand]), b is the discrimination due to carboxylation by
RuBisCO (30[per thousand]), and d is a term related to a variety of factors (respiration, liquid-phase diffusion, etc.), often taken as a constant of 1[per thousand] or sometimes neglected.
The rise in Ci suggests that there was no lack of substrate for the functioning of Ribulose 1.5 Bisphosphate Carboxylase Oxygenase (
RuBisCO) (Machado et al., 2010; Sa et al., 2015).
Molecules of COee and oxygen are similar shapes and the key mechanism that harvests COee, an enzyme with the catchy name of
RuBisCO, sometimes mistakes an oxygen molecule for one of COee.
(2014) pointed out in their review that UV-B radiation can affect photosynthesis in various aspects such as damage of photosystem II, loss in integrity of the thylakoid membranes and reduced
Rubisco activity and content besides stomatal conductance.
The rate of photosynthesis depends largely on the amount and activity of Ribulose bisphosphate carboxylase/ oxygenase (
Rubisco) (Lorimer, 1981).
Decrease in photosynthetic capacity might be due to the decreased activity of photosynthetically active enzymes like
RubisCO, which decreases under salinity (Rivelli et al., 2002).
