Pharmacist Independent Prescriber

A registered pharmacist and named member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (RPSGB) who may prescribe any licensed medicine except controlled drugs for any medical condition. PIPs must limit their prescribing to their level of experience and competence.

In England, qualified nurse independent prescribers and pharmacist independent prescribers are allowed to prescribe any licensed medicine for any medical condition within their competence including - for nurses - some controlled drugs.
