Metabolic disease A fulminant disease characterized by massive hepatic iron loading and perinatal liver failure, accompanied by myocardial and pancreatic acinar iron overload Management Liver transplant–rarely successful. Cf Hemochromatosis, Juvenile hemochromatosis.
