A gene on chromosome 21q22.3 that encodes a dynamin-like GTPase which acts as a cell-autonomous host restriction factor against many viral pathogens, including influenza viruses, rhabdovirus VSV, bunyavirus LACV, Thogoto virus, measles virus, Hanta virus, Coxsackie virus CVB, Rift Valley fever virus, HBV, and Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever virus.
