Migranal

A nasal spray formulation of an ergot compound used to manage migraines, but not hemiplegic or basilar migraines and not as prophylaxis.
 
Adverse effects
Rarely: cardiac events, including coronary artery vasospasm, transient myocardial ischaemia or infarction, ventricular tachycardia and ventricular fibrillation. More commonly: burning sensation, dysgeusia, diarrhoea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, hot flushes, irritation, nasal congestion or dryness, nasal discharge, nausea, sinusitis, sore throat, exhaustion, weakness.

Q. what can cause a migrane other than light, noise, andno sleep? Well its been 4 days n 3 nights that I have it n it dont go away it was bad at first but then my right ear hurted as well as my right upper wisdomteeth It seems to be in only the right side and its been movin down towards my neck... Please if u have any info on wha the fuck is goin on with me let me know asap...

A. A migraine attack can be triggered also by caffeine consumption, alcohol consumption, certain medications, allergic reactions, physical or emotional stress, smoking, skipping meals, menstrual cycle fluctuations, menopause, and certain food containing-
1) tyramine- red wine, aged cheese, smoked fish, chicken liver, figs and some beans.
2) nitrates - like hot dogs, bacon and salami.

Migranal is a dihydroergotamine available in formulations for subcutaneous injection and as a nasal spray.
Important precautions Azithromycin may interact with other antibiotics, and also with blood thinners such as warfarin (Coumadin); migraine medications such as dihydroergotamine (Migranal) and ergotamine (Ergomar, Cafergot); and increase levels of digoxin (Lanoxin), which is used to treat heart failure and atrial fibrillation.
Medications that treat migraines: Anti inflammatories Aspirin (Bayer, Bufferin, Excedrin), ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil), naproxen (Aleve, Nuprin) Triptans Sumatriptan (Imitrex), rizatriptan (Maxalt), zolmitriptan (Zomig) Ergotamines DHE (dihydroergotamine) nasal spray (Migranal), DHE injection.
The ergot alkaloids include ergotamine titrate and dihydroergotamine (DHE 45, Migranal nasal spray), which cause constriction of peripheral and cranial blood vessels.
Inpatients can be switched to intravenous DHE (dihy-droergotamine mesylate) and outpatients can be given Migranal NS.
Launched in the spring, Sinol's nasal spray is designed to offer consumers an alternative to an array of prescription-strength nasal sprays, including GlaxoSmithKline PLC's Imitrex, AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP's Zomig and Valeant Pharmaceuticals International's Migranal.
In the first 6 months of 1997, the following new drugs were approved by the FDA: Agrylin, Alesse, Anzemet, Carbatrol, Fareston, Flomax, Galzin, Idamycin, Migranal, Posicor, Prelay, Prevacid, Pytest, Requip, Resulin, Serlect, Skelid, Tasmar, Uniretic, Urso, Vicoprofen, Viracept, Zyban.
