Maslow, Abraham

An American psychologist (1908–1970) best known for his hierarchy of needs, for which mental health was predicated on a tiered fulfillment of innate human needs, from the most tangible and basic physiological needs (e.g., food, shelter, sex, sleep, in priority of that order) to the most intangible (e.g., self-esteem, creativity, problem-solving), culminating in self-actualisation.
