MPP1
A gene on chromosome Xq28 that encodes a membrane-associated guanylate kinase (MAGUK) family protein. MAGUKs interact with the cytoskeleton and regulate cell proliferation, signalling pathways and intercellular junction; they may be involved in regulating cell shape, hair cell development, neural patterning of the retina and apico-basal polarity, and tumour suppression in epithelial cells.Segen's Medical Dictionary. © 2012 Farlex, Inc.
