Labelling, Transport and Reception of Specimens Regulations

Regulations published in 1985 by the Royal Mail, which delineate requirements for carriage of biological specimens from point A to B within the UK.

Items that cannot be transported by regular Royal Mail:
• Biomedical waste;
• Flammables/aerosols/alcohol > 70%;
• Some Hazard Group—HG3 agents, all HG4 agents, poisons;
• Some radioactive materials.
