KIF4B
KIF4B
A gene on chromosome 5q33.1 that encodes a motor protein that translocates the protein regulator of cytokinesis 1 (PRC1) to the plus ends of spindle microtubules during the metaphase-to-anaphase transition, an essential step in the formation of an organised central spindle midzone and midbody and for successful cytokinesis. KIF4B may play a role in mitotic chromosomal positioning and bipolar spindle stabilisation.Segen's Medical Dictionary. © 2012 Farlex, Inc. All rights reserved.
