(12) described perilunate injuries as the result of sequential
intercarpal wrist instability that occurs following a reproducible injury pattern: wrist hyperextension, ulnar deviation, and
intercarpal supination with an axial load.

Intercarpal fusion--a review," Journal of the Anatomical Society of India, vol.
The carpal joint consists of the three chief joints; the antebrachiocarpal joint,
intercarpal and carpometacarpal joints between all carpal bones (Budras et al, 2012; Getty, 1975; Konig et al, 2007).
MRI of the right wrist demonstrated synovial hypertrophy and effusion in the radioulnar and
intercarpal joints.
Watson HK et al did limited triscaphoid
intercarpal ortho disease for rotatory subluxation of scaphoid (5).
The vessels on the dorsal aspect of the wrist originate from the dorsal
intercarpal arch, and occasionally from the dorsal branch of the interosseous artery.
Disruption of capsular ligaments causes abnormal motion between the proximal and distal rows in the wrist and are termed "nondissociative carpal instability." Examples of such injuries are disruptions of the dorsal
intercarpal (DIC) ligament, dorsal radiocarpal (DRC) ligament, and radioscaphocapitate (RSC) ligament.
Two common operations for wrist arthritis are
intercarpal fusion (a partial fusion of the small wrist bones) and proximal row carpectomy, or PRC (removal of the first row of carpal bones).
There was evidence of synovitis in the
intercarpal joints and tenosynovitis of the extensor pollicis brevis (Figure 3) and the abductor pollicis longus.
The mass was located in the first
intercarpal space, with the overlying skin showing discoloration.
(6) The differential diagnostic list in patients with radial wrist pain should also include C6 cervical radiculopathy, intersection syndrome,
intercarpal instabilities, scaphoid fracture, and arthroses of the
intercarpal (IC) and radiocarpal (RC) joints.
The diagnosis of
intercarpal ligamentous injury in the absence of a gross deformity is difficult with plain radiographs, ultrasound, arthrograms, and even magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
