The lncRNA HULC functions as an oncogene by targeting ATG7 and
ITGB1 in epithelial ovarian carcinoma.
CD29, Integrin beta-1, is a protein encoded by
ITGB1 gene in humans (Goodfellow et al., 1989).
This important member of the [beta]1 integrin family is composed of two chains: CD49d (alpha 4) encoded by ITGA4 gene and CD29 (beta 1) encoded by
ITGB1. VLA-4 is mainly expressed on T cells, and it mediates the transmigration of T cells into the tissue by binding to its ligand VCAM-1 on endothelial cells.
Such miR-29a-3p targeting might increase the expression of DNMT3B, VEGFA, and
ITGB1 oncogenes, which suggested a possible involvement of H19 and circMYLK in the development, growth, and metastasis of bladder cancer [109].
Li et al., "hTERT promotes the invasion of gastric cancer cells by enhancing FOXO3a ubiquitination and subsequent
ITGB1 upregulation, " Gut, vol.
MicroRNA-124 suppresses oral squamous cell carcinoma motility by targeting
ITGB1. FEBS Lett.
Using 50kb flanking regions in the analysis of EAs, the top-ranked (#1) risk pathway was the 'cell-extracellular matrix interactions' pathway (RSU1, LIMS1, LIMS2, ARHGEF6, FERMT2, ACTN1, BLIM1, FLNC,
ITGB1, PXN, FLNA, VASP, ILK, TESK1, PARVB, and PARVA) (p < 2.0E-4).
The lens expresses the laminin receptors [alpha]6[beta]1, [alpha]6[beta]4, and integrin and mice lacking either both the itga3 and itga6 or
itgb1 genes from the lens develop profound lens abnormalities including loss of the lens epithelium and fiber cell defects [5, 65-67].
