Hazard Group 2

Hazard Group 2

A category of microorganisms listed by the UK’s Advisory Committee on Dangerous Pathogens, which it defines as biological agents that can cause human disease and may be a hazard to employees. Hazard Group 2 agents are unlikely to spread to the community and effective prophylaxis or effective treatment is usually available.

Examples
Herpesviruses, orthoviruses, paramyxoviruses, picornaviruses, adenoviruses.
