HEY2

A gene on chromosome 6q21 that encodes a DNA-binding basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) transcription factor. HEY2 is a downstream effector of Notch signalling and may be required for cardiovascular development by downregulating the cardiac transcriptional activators GATA4 and GATA6. It interacts with ARNT, GATA4, GATA6, HES1, HEYL, HDAC1, NCOR1 and SIN3A.
