According to our results, the frequencies of frontal, maxillary and
ethmoid sinus lesions were significantly higher in winter than in summer, while the frequency of sphenoid sinus lesions did not show significant seasonal differences.
Unlike Squamous cell carcinoma which is most commonly seen in Maxillary sinus, Paranasal Neuroendocrine Carcinomas are mostly observed in
ethmoid sinus.9

Osteoblastoma of the
ethmoid sinus: the fourth reported case.
The first major possibility is that sinusitis produced an expansile infected mass within one of the sinuses adjacent to the orbit and that this mass either expanded the sinus or broke through the wall of the sinus to compress either a cranial nerve or an extraocular muscle, in Sisler's case, the
ethmoid sinus (located between the eyes) was reported to be infected, so that the mass would presumably have arisen within that particular sinus.
The products release a steroid with anti-inflammatory properties directly into the sinus lining, then dissolve, maintaining the open passages created in
ethmoid sinus surgery.
Squamous cell carcinoma accounts for 80% of sinonasal malignancy, arising most frequently in the maxillary sinus (25-63%), and less frequently in the nasal cavity (15-35%),
ethmoid sinus (10-25%) and least frequently in the frontal and sphenoid sinuses (1%).
ETHMOID SINUS: The ethmoid sinuses begin to form in the third to fifth fetal months, when numerous separate evaginations arise from the nasal cavity.
The mass was adherent to nasal septum, maxillary and
ethmoid sinus walls making it difficult to ascertain the site of origin.
Endoscopic surgery has largely replaced the external fronto-ethmoidectomy procedure for recurrent nasal polyposis, frontal and
ethmoid sinus disease, mucoceles and fungal sinusitis.
Specimens from right and left
ethmoid sinus, as well as right maxillary sinus contents, were submitted.
