Hundreds of decorated
ducks will head to a village this weekend with entertainment in mind.
The aptly named
Duck Inn will be serving ploughman lunches and among a number of open gardens available to visit.
"In addition, this year the
duck collectors had to wade up the river to retrieve
ducks that had got stuck.The river was low so some of the rocks had
ducks held behind them.
Whoever owns the
duck that reaches the net first wins a money prize.
Arkansas' status as one of the premier
duck hunting destinations in the country has been earned over decades, but a combination of factors produced a tougher-than-expected hunting season that some worry could portend a long-term trend.
She said,the
duck eggs and meat were an important source of quality protein for poor people in the villages.
For the other mixed clutches, none of Mandarin
duck eggs were removed, only two eggs were hatched but the ducklings did not survive.
The event will take the form of eight
duck race heats comprising 250 yellow
ducks in each, followed by a grand final of the fastest 25 from each race, with cash prizes to be won.
The
duck was spotted by a member of the public in the river near Brook Street in Ystrad, Pentre.
'These regions contributed about 62 percent to the country's total
duck production,' the PSA said.
