DLG5

DLG5

A gene on chromosome 10q23 that encodes a protein of the membrane-associated guanylate kinase (MAGUK) family, the members of which have a catalytically inactive guanylate kinase domain, PDZ and SH3 domains, and are thought to function as scaffolding molecules at sites of cell-cell contact. DLG5 localises to the plasma membrane, interacts with components of adherens junctions and the cytoskeleton, and may be involved in transmitting extracellular signals to the cytoskeleton and maintaining epithelial cell structure.
