1. pneumonia accompanied by pleurisy; called also pneumopleuritis.
2. an infectious disease of cattle, combining pneumonia and pleurisy, due to Mycoplasma mycoides; see also pleuropneumonia-like organisms.

n.
1. Inflammation of the pleura and lungs; pneumonia aggravated by pleurisy.
2. An infectious febrile disease of cattle, caused by a mycoplasma and characterized by inflammation of the pleura and lungs.
