Coakley's operation

An obsolete, highly aggressive surgical procedure for treating chronic maxillary sinusitis, in which the anterior sinus wall was removed, the mucosa stripped and the sinus cavity packed with iodinated gauze; in current practice, the Caldwell-Luc procedure is the standard of care.
