Boy with hypohidrotic ED displaying scarce, fine, and silky hair, alopecia of the eyebrows, prominent frontal bossing, discrete deformity and low implantation of the ear (a and b), angular
cheilitis (arrow), dry and scaly skin, and perioral dermatitis and fissures (c).
The dentist was requested to document the following oral manifestations on a data collection sheet that was designed for the study: soft and hard palate ulcers, ecchymosis, petechiae, lupus mucosae oris,
cheilitis, candida, discoid, herpes simplex, gingivitis, periodontal disease, cavities, and missing teeth.
Discoid lesions on the lip vermilion and
cheilitis can also be found; of note, these lesions spread into perioral skin (3, 12).
Table Types of Nutrient Deficiency Caused by Heavy Drinking and the Associated Signs and Symptoms Selected Nutrient Deficiency Signs/Symptoms Magnesium Insulin resistance, muscle cramps Selenium Myopathy, cardiomyopathy Vitamin B1/Thiamine Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome, neurologic symptoms Vitamin B2/Riboflavin Glossitis,

Our patient's painful oral lesions were highly suggestive of secondary syphilis: depapillary erythematous patches on the dorsal aspect of the tongue (also known as plaques en prairie fauchee) and a split papule on the oral commissure (also known as fausse perleche or false angular
cheilitis) [11, 15, 18-22].
The pathological differential diagnosis of MEC of the lacrimal gland may include inverted duct papillomas,
cheilitis glandularis, necrotizing sialometaplasia, cystadenoma, cystadenocarcinoma, sebaceous carcinoma and other clear cell tumours, adenosquamous carcinoma, metastatic squamous cell carcinoma, and rarely pleomorphic adenoma.
Presence of granulomatous
cheilitis in the biopsy together with one or two of these clinical findings could be sufficient for MRS diagnosis (2).
Therefore, depending on the clinical manifestation, differential diagnosis are trauma caused by bites, fibroepithelial hyperplasia, lichen planus, pemphigus vulgaris, ulcer associated with trauma, angular
cheilitis, spinocellular carcinoma, aphthous ulcers, and leukoplakia (Table 1).
It's characteristic features are: necrolytic migratory erythema (NME), weight loss, DM or glucose intolerance, mucosal abnormalities (such as glossitis,
cheilitis, stomatitis), diarrhea [4].
The aim of this study was to assess the efficacy and relapse rates with low-dose (0.5 mg/kg/day) isotretinoin in cases of acne vulgaris and study its mucocutaneous (
cheilitis, dry skin, dry mouth, retinoid dermatitis, photosensitivity, etc.) and biochemical [altered liver function tests (LFTs) and lipid profile] adverse effects.
