The system has shown stability to the point of operating for more than 1,000 hours without damage to electrodes and can be applied to remove
CO2 by inducing voluntary chemical reactions.
Meanwhile, the Habshan and Bab complex could capture another 1.9 million tons per year of
CO2 (100 million scfd).
'Less than 5 billion tons of
CO2 removal could drastically drive up the challenges of climate stabilization,' PIK coauthor Nico Bauer said.
Two possible ways to control
CO2 level in the atmosphere are either reducing the use of
CO2 emitting sources i-e reduction in the combustion of fossil fuels and other such sources that will release
CO2 in to the atmosphere, or we must find new methods and technologies to convert atmospheric waste into other useful products [4].
Until now, certain basic approaches were proposed to measure the effect of cultivation on
CO2 flow in soil.
According to the company, it plans to initially sell
CO2 in the restaurant, travel and leisure markets, where there is expansive use of
CO2 for beverages, including soda and
CO2 enhanced alcoholic beverages.
Effects of this increase in
CO2 levels may not be felt immediately, but they will definitely occur later on as
CO2 continues to be pumped into the atmosphere at a steady rate.
The company says in industry, there is a need to closely monitor
CO2 levels in production process environments and other areas and monitoring
CO2 levels in buildings is important as it is a good indicator of air quality.
Its chemical symbol itself indicates each molecule of
CO2 contains one atom of carbon fused to two atoms of oxygen.
These variations indicate that
CO2 is a bit-part player to much stronger temperature drivers (up and down), such as solar irradiance, ocean currents and cloud cover.
